The Revista Contacto is an academic publication of the University of Panama, available online with open access and national and international dissemination in the area of Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, and Political Science. It is sponsored by the Vice-Rector's Office for Research and Postgraduate Studies and is attached to the Institute of Human Rights, Justice, and Peace. It receives unpublished articles in Spanish or English indistinctly, which are reviewed in their original language through a double-blind peer review system.
Revista Contacto is published four-monthly, with three issues per year: January - April; May - August; and September - December.

The Revista Contacto emerged as a space for the dissemination of research works, debate, exchange, and inter- and transdisciplinary reflection among the Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, and Political Science, focusing on the main problems of Panamanian and Latin American society. In this way, the Revista Contacto promotes the glocal and systemic approach as ways of understanding and addressing social phenomena, through research that facilitates new knowledge for scientific analysis for decision-makers, as well as contributing to the dissemination of research results and critical reflection, in the improvement of the quality of life, social equality, education, public policies, and culture of the country and the Latin American region.
This journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) for the reception of manuscripts and communications between the editorial team, authors, and reviewers. OJS is software for managing open access journals and electronic books, developed, funded, and freely distributed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) subject to the GNU General Public License.
