Peer review process

Manuscripts, reviews and essays submitted to be considered for publication in the journal Contacto will be submitted to a process of evaluation by external peers.

The arbitration system of the journal Contacto uses the system of external evaluation by experts using the methodology of double blind peer review, according to the citation rules of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 7th Edition (APA) and the manuscript evaluation protocol of the journal.

The peer review evaluation may conclude in one of three results:

a) acceptance of the article,

b) may be published if modifications are made,

c) rejected.

In any of the cases the authors will be informed.

In situations where the reviewers indicate option b (published if modifications are made) the authors will have a period of 15 days to make the adjustments and the reviewers a period of 22 days from the moment they receive the corrected document.

Prior to publication, the editorial team will evaluate that the article submitted meets the requirements of the journal and that the document is original and never has been published.
