AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Contacto. Journal of Social Sciences, Humanities, Law and Political Sciences is an academic publication of the University of Panama, published every four months.

 

CONTACT has a quarterly periodicity, three issues per year.

  • January – April
  • May - August
  • September - December

The topics of the articles must be original and of deep quality in the research field. Articles can be written in Spanish or English and may address topics from any of the following disciplines: Social sciences, Humanities, Public administration, International Relations, Law and Political Science.

 

The manuscripts submitted for publication include: research results, research advances, review articles, scientific essays and book reviews (published in the last 5 years), all within the aforementioned fields of knowledge.

 

The authors must guarantee that they do not have any conflict of interest based on the works presented in this journal.

 

About collaborations

Manuscripts and other contributions submitted to the Journal Contacto must be sent in a word processor format: Microsoft Word and Open Word (No PDF), in a 'No spacing' style (as it appears in the image) and line spacing of 1.5.

The documents to submit must be sent for consideration to the following e-mail address: contacto.popular507@gmail.com

 

Attached to the email (on a separate file) there must be a short biographical extract that indicates field of study, institution or research center, specializations or other studies, lines of research, and if you are an activist of any kind including the organization.

 

Documents’ technical features

 

Before sending the files, it is recommended to check that they comply with the editorial standards of the Journal, as well as with each aspect indicated in the technical features.

 

The Journal Contacto will receive the proposed documents based on the following technical features:

 

  • Articles may be between 15 and 25 pages long, including graphs, images, charts, bibliographic references, tables, diagrams, among others.
  • The references of the articles will be prepared according to the American Psychological Association 6th edition (APA Format).

 

Examples:

  • Citation of an academic article by an author consulted in the database: (Bartolucci, 2017).
  • Citation of academic article with two or more authors, consulted in database with DOI (Berman et al., 2008).
  • Book (Habermas, 2007)

Including the DOI will be preferred for books and online articles; in case of not being available, the URL will be included instead.

 

It was decided not to put a period at the end of electronic addresses (both DOI and URL) in the references so that their consultation won't be troublesome. This exception will be used for the digital and PDF version of the articles.

 

We recommend the use of reference managers: Zotero, Mendeley, or Microsoft Word reference manager.
