The journal Índigo Panamá, is an Open Access publication, allowing the entire national and international scientific community to consult and use its contents under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 license, which allows free access, download, and storage of published articles.

It is funded solely by the University of Panama and does not receive any external sponsorship or funding for advertising or on behalf of third parties. The journal does not impose any financial charges or publication fees on either authors or readers. There are no publication fees or article processing charges (APCs) associated with this journal.
