SCIENTIA  Journal of Basic Science and Technology (SJBST) (ISSN 0258-9702, E-ISSN 2710-7647), revista publicada por la Vicerrectoría de Investigación y Postgrado de la Universidad de Panamá desde 1986, tiene como objetivo contribuir al avance del conocimiento de las Ciencia Naturales y Exactas (Biología, Química, Física, Matemáticas y Estadística), Ciencias de la Tierra (Geología, Geomorfología, Oceanografía, Climatología y Geoecología), y Ciencias Computacionales (Inteligencia Artificial, Interacción Persona-Computador, Gráficos por Computadora, Cálculo Numérico y Simbólico). Se publica en la modalidad de un volumen anual dividido en dos números o fascículos semestralmente (enero-junio, julio-diciembre) y ocasionalmente números especiales. 

SCIENTIA  publica trabajos científicos y técnicos, originales e inéditos, en español, inglés y portugués. La Revista SCIENTIA utiliza el sistema de arbitraje doble ciego, asegurando confiabilidad del proceso de evaluación. Los manuscritos serán considerados para publicarse como “Artículo Científico” “Nota Corta”, “Artículos de Revisión” y “Ensayo” La Revista SCIENTIA está indexada en Latindex, el Sistema Regional de Información en Línea para Revistas Científicas de América Latina (AmeliCA) y La Red de Revistas Científicas de América Latina y el Caribe, España y Portugal (Redalyc) 

Aims and Scopes 

SCIENTIA is the Journal of Basic Science and Technology (SJBST), (ISSN 0258-9702, E-ISSN 2710-7647), published by University of Panamaˈs Vicerrectoria de Investigación y Postgrado since 1986. The Journal aims at increasing the body of knowledge in Natural and Exact Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Statistics), Earth Sciences (Geology, Geomorphology, Oceanography, Climatology, and Geoecology), and Computational Sciences.  

SCIENTIA is printed twice a year (January-June and July-December) with special issues published occasionally.  Our journal publishes original papers in Spanish, English and Portuguese. All manuscripts are double-peer reviewed. Manuscripts are considered for publication as a “Regular Article,” “Short Note,” “Review Articles,” and “Scientific Essays”. SCIENTIA Journal of Basic Science and Technology is indexed in Latindex, the Regional Online Information System for Scientific Journals of Latin America (AmeliCA), and the Network of Scientific Journals of Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal (Redalyc).
