Abstract

Learning personalization is a pedagogical strategy aimed at adapting educational processes to the individual needs, styles, and pace of students. This research proposes a teaching strategy mediated by adaptive educational technologies, specifically the use of the digital tool VoiceThread, to promote personalized learning in higher education. A predominantly descriptive, mixed-method approach was adopted. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire administered to 32 university students from different programs at the Bocas del Toro Regional University Center during the first semester of 2025. The instrument included closed-ended questions, analyzed statistically, and open-ended questions, addressed through thematic analysis. The strategy was implemented in four groups through direct observation. The results reveal that 72% of the students were initially unfamiliar with VoiceThread; however, after its implementation, participants showed progressive appropriation of the tool, achieving the proposed learning goals. Improvemeperformancesvation, participation, and academic performance were identified. The findings suggest that the use of adaptive technologies fosters more inclusive, dynamic, and effective learning environments, reaffirming their potential as a pedagogical resource in university contexts.
