This article presents a proposal for curricular innovation in the Natural Resources and Environment Bachelor’s Degree of the Universidad de Panamá. This proposal is based on a diagnosis performed to the career study plan and the same intends to demonstrate the need for implementing contents aimed at developing abilities and skills related to both written and oral communication. In addition, it considers the importance of the academic literacy concept with the purpose of increasing the competences of graduates, in particular the communicative, as well as improving employment opportunities and strengthening the training of professionals in this specialty to do an effective job in the tasks of damage assessment, strategies projection and the dissemination of environmental education.
