The Médica de Panamá journal adheres to the ethical standards generally accepted for medical journals and follows the recommendations and procedures outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We also encourage authors to take into account the Declaration of Helsinki Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects.
Likewise, the journal subscribes to the ICMJE recommendations on the conduct, writing, editing, and publication of works in medical journals, and the implications for all roles involved in that process, i.e., authors, reviewers, editors, and sponsors, among others (It is of primary interest to the journal that all its contributors (authors, reviewers, editors, publishing professionals, among others) work under principles that promote and guarantee scientific integrity in all phases of scientific knowledge communication, so that the manuscripts published in the journal convey reliable, reproducible knowledge that helps both the advancement of science and the solution of problems in the field, with a real impact on professional practice.
