Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to evaluate the impact that virtual higher education has had at a global level in times of COVID 19. For this, the documentary analysis of various interpretations, reports and essays that have been generated around the effects of the pandemic was performed. The analysis focuses on education with an emphasis on the possibilities offered by technologies in the face of social distancing. This essay is divided in three parts. In the first, a general review of the new educational context posed by the pandemic is developed, and the decisive role of technologies is examined. The second presents the experience of learning and teaching in times of COVID 19 and, finally, as a conclusion, the question arises of knowing what we have learned and what the challenges facing higher education are to guarantee equity in access and provide a quality response to the demands of these times.
