Abstract

The school educational community is an example of integration and participation of the most outstanding groups in the educational activity in a school center: the principal, teachers, students, parents and the community people which constitute five indispensable and permanent sectors in the good development of the work the educational centers perform.

The educational community is broken down into operational levels, according to the context, whether the most general or the most concrete context. The Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) classifies this into Regional Educational Community and School Educational

Community and both are defined as Ad Honorem Consulting and Participating Organisms. Legal regulations establish their functions and terms, as well as the norms for the selection and profile of its members.

This article, “The school Educational Community: A Strength of the school center”, presents a very detailed explanation of this entity, its level of importance and its role as support of the educational process in the school center. In addition, this paper presents some of the experiences in other countries are along with the regulations, functions, and legal foundations in Panamá.
