Abstract

Two types of tissues (liver and heart) of domestic pig (Sus scrofa L), were used as attractive baits to compare their effectiveness to attract insects. In a trap, 200 gr of pork liver were placed, while in another 200 gr of heart were placed. A total of 2 285 specimens were collected, distributed in three groups. Eight families of de Diptera were collected, including Calliphoridae, with 2001 specimens, Phoridae 99 specimens, Muscidae with 82 specimens, Sarcophagidae and Drosophilidae with 37 and 25 specimens respectively. The most abundant species were Chrysomya megacephala, Lucilia sericata, Cochliomyia macellaria, Chrysomya rufifacies, Lucilia eximia and Lucilia cuprina
