The main objective of this research is to find out the presence of Chlamydia trachomatis and genital mycoplasmas in female teens aged between 10 to 19 years, treated at The Integral Center of Adolescent of Colón (Centro Integral de Adolescentes de Colon), located in the province of Colon (Republic of Panama). For such purposes, the samples were collected and studied using the Gram staining and cultivated in Agar A8, broth B10 and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction); being the last one, the most sensitive technique. This center overs the areas of Barrio Norte, Barrio Sur and Outside the Area that corresponds to the rest which does not belong to the coverage area of the center; being the latter the most affected one. In turn, this center manages two types of populations: pregnant girls and planners’ women who resulted 28.85% positive for Chlamydia trachomatis and Ureaplasma urealyticum; and 17.3% with Mycoplasma hominis. Finally, a constant monitoring is necessary to prevent the negative effects of the presence of these microorganisms in susceptible patients.
