The Planning for the locations of digital television transmitters in the DVB-T format by broadcast television service providers should ensure appropriate coverage in a specific area, and users receive the programming and content they provide. The purpose of this research was to carry out the study and analysis of the electric field strengths of digital television signals by designing a data capture unit based on an SDR receiver and a raspberry pi 3 card. This allowed the analysis of 16 digital channels of open television, which at the time of the study remained operational, establishing that the level of coverage by the 16 digital channels is 68.75% with coverage margins of 95% of the Corregimientos of Ancón, Bethania, and Bella Vista. In the measurements, an average of 1,260 samples were obtained for each channel, using the measurement recommendations and coverage analysis established by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in a study area of approximately 10,596Km2. The data was validated with a coverage prediction tool.
