The work pretends to achieve the exaltation of the qualitative research, as an opportunity to generate knowledge. It is based on the narration as an activity of discursive production, ruled by the bibliographical rea-soning that allows guaranteeing the legitimacy of the work. In this work, the importance of the qualitative rese-arch, highlighting fundamental aspects of his relevancy, contribution and viability for the profession, is described, prevailing in each of the considered aspects, the value of the qualitative paradigm for the research development of the nurses.
