Abstract

In order to diagnose the predisposing conditions for the first experience of implementation of the virtual modality in the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University Regional Center of Azuero (CRUA), a descriptive study was carried out in the first semester of 2018, for which all the professors of the Faculty, all the students of the career of Diversified High School Teaching, and the authorities of the CRUA and the Virtual Campus of the University of Panama were surveyed. The results show that the authorities support the incorporation of the virtual modality, that the institution has acceptable conditions in terms of technological and infrastructure facilities, and teachers and students have a favorable attitude towards the use of ICT in the teaching and learning process; however, some weaknesses in the use of knowledge and skills are perceived; however, these can eventually be corrected.
