This article presents an analysis of seven (7) demographic indicators for the identification of the dynamics of the countries' development. The correlative contrast of sociodemographic variables is established with the IDH variable, which allows showing direct and inverse relations between them. The correlation analysis showed that there is a negative correlation between the variables: population growth rate, fertility rate, and infant mortality, when compared with HDI. On the contrary, a positive correlation was observed between the variables: median age, urbanization, obesity, and literacy, when contrasted with the HDI. It is important to consider sociodemographic variables in order to understand the dynamism of the behavior of human societies in the physical space (rural or urban) in which they live. Unwanted sociodemographic behaviors experienced by the more developed countries, such as obesity, can also be foreseen.
