Some students nearing completion of their studies at the Regional University Center of Veraguas demonstrate limited mastery of the scientific method required for their final projects, which complicates the work of academic tutors. The study hypothesized that a concise methodological guide could facilitate the understanding and application of theoretical content. A mixed-methods, documentary, and field-based design was implemented using an experimental approach with exploratory and explanatory components, applied to two census groups of seminar students. The experimental group used the guide (the independent variable), while the control group relied on traditional bibliographic resources. Results revealed a 91% increase in academic performance and significant improvements in understanding the scientific method. Students evaluated the guide positively, highlighting its clarity and practical value. It is concluded that the brief methodological guide is an effective tool for strengthening research competencies and enhancing the quality of academic supervision.
