Abstract

Surveys applied to teleworking workers in Panama for the two surveys carried out, the first in August 2021 and the second in November of the same year, during the Covid-19 pandemic, revealed similar trends. In both, many women and a mostly mature population were observed. However, there is a discrepancy between employees' desire to continue teleworking and the conditions provided by employers. In general, workers expressed improvements in quality of life and productivity with teleworking, but also pointed to problems such as lack of adequate conditions, non-compliance with regulations, and difficulties in communication. These results highlight the need to ensure compliance with the standards established both   in  Law  126 of February 18, 2020, which regulates telework in the Republic of Panama, and Executive Decree 133, of September 16, 2020, which develops it.
