Abstract

A morphological and taxonomic revision of the North American genus Arigomphus Needham is presented, with an emphasis on the generic delimitation and diagnostic characterization of its seven species. A detailed diagnosis is provided for the genus and for each species, based on external morphological characters of adults. Diagnostic characters relevant for species identification are illustrated using comparative figures.
