The first record of leucism in the Wilson’s Plover, Anarhynchus wilsonia, in Panama is documented. The individual was observed on 28 February 2026 during a shorebird monitoring survey at Playa El Agallito, Chitré, Herrera Province. The specimen showed extensive white areas on the back, scapulars, wing coverts, and part of the head region, while the bill, legs, and eyes retained the characteristic coloration of the species, consistent with partial leucism. The bird was associated with thousands of individuals showing typical plumage and did not exhibit evident behavioral alterations during the observation period. The record was documented through direct observation and photographic evidence. This finding expands the knowledge of chromatic aberrations in shorebirds in the region and constitutes the first documented case for this species in Panama.
