Abstract

Since more than a year we have been living in a pandemic world. The spread of COVID-19 has not only been a biological and health phenomenon, but has become a total social fact. Every aspect of our lives has been conditioned by the existence of the pandemic, many things have changed and may never be the same again. The effects of this have not been felt in the same way by all people, given that the structural conditions of a large sector of the population place them in an inequality with multidimensional characteristics. The phenomenon of people living in the streets is a case in point, as they are not even able to comply with the basic guidelines to protect themselves from the new virus that threatens humanity. This work is a contribution to the theoretical framework necessary to understand the way in which a total social fact affects in a differentiated way those who find themselves in visibly unequal conditions.
