Abstract

The Covid19 pandemic has greatly disrupted what until its appearance was known as "normality" and, along with that, it has disrupted transcendental sectors for development, such as the economy, being one of the most affected aspects The curious thing is that, although the virus does not discriminate at the time of infection and despite the homogeneous measures taken by countries to try to mitigate contagion, the truth is that not all countries and their societies have been equally affected by the pandemic. The present essay seeks to approach the situation of the Afro-descendant people in this context of pandemic and almost two years before the end of the decade decreed by the United Nations. A review of the conditions of health, education, poverty and other factors is necessary to recognize how the Afro-descendant people managed in the midst of the Covid- 19 pandemic these substantial elements for recognition, justice and development as the thematic axes of the Afro-descendant decade.
