A preliminary analysis carried out in 2014, in plants of Erythrina variegata var. Orientalis with galls in leaves, petioles and stems in the province of Panama, determined the presence of a micro-hymenopter of the Eulophidae family, associated with damage. To confirm the identity of the insect and its distribution in the rest of the country, a sampling was carried out in plants of Erythrina spp, at a national level. The study was conducted from March to July 2016, in plants and parts of them, that had galls on leaves, branches and young petioles, to verify the incidence of the insect pest associated with them. The results of the inspections and observations made in the field and laboratory, allowed to identify and report the incidence of Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) in different states of the Panama Republic, which included; Darien, Colon, Panama Center, Panamá West, Cocle, Herrera, Los Santos, Veraguas and Chiriqui; only in plants of E. variegata var. Orientalis. These results confirm the incidence and distribution in the country of the causal agent of galls in Erythrina, coinciding with reports made in Southeast Asia, Hawaii, Taiwan, China and Florida, where it has also been reported since 2004.
