Hydrochemical results indicate a basin type ( Na - Ca - HCO3 - Cl) and isotopic results indicate a basin supplied mainly rainwater , although this is a preliminary information for lack of characterization of the waters of local rainfall . Flows of the basin flow from west to east, through the city of Anton to the river of the same name, indicating that the operation should be reviewed in the western sector to avoid drops in groundwater levels . The uncontrolled use of sodium hypochlorite by the IDAAN to purify water wells, interferes and complicates the use of the hydrochemistry technique for the hydrological interpretation of the aquifer of Anton. According to Panama standards for drinking water (MICI ) , the chemical results indicate a high quality water for human consumption, although an increase is observed in the nitrate concentration focused on the center and south of the city of Anton.
