This article addresses the importance of maritime transport for the local and national economies where it is developed, which apply methods to take advantage of the great economic opportunities that exist. Panama is among the countries in the Latin American region that has developed a network of ports that provide a wide variety of services to containerized, bulk, liquid, and general cargo, as well as passengers at cruise terminals. The activity of the Canal and the seaports are pillars for the implementation of the logistics sector, for it the importance of analyzing the evolution of the port sector in the economic dynamics of Panama.
