Abstract

A fern inventory   was made in the surrounding communities of the forest reserve “La Tronosa” of Tonosí, in Los Santos province, Panama Republic, in the years 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015. Harvested samples were colledcted in the path to cattle farms, into cattle farms, the gallery forest of the small creek “La Tronosa”, “la Pintada” and “Barro Prieto”, and in the forest of “La Liboria” of Guanico.  For sample identification a taxonomic key and comparison with the herbarium collection was used. The samples fended are typical of the disturbed area and are registered in the Panamanian Flora: Adiantum, Anemia, Asplenium, Blechnum, Bolbitis, Campyloneurum, Cyathea, Cyclopeltis semicordata, Dryopteris, Lygodium, Nephrolepsis, Pityrogramma, Pleopeltis, Polypodium, Pteris, Selaginella, Tectaria rivalis, Thelypteris dentata y T. de concinna. The families Polypodiaceae and Pteridaceae with tree genus are best represented.
