Abstract

Panama's main characteristic is its geographic position, which in turn has resulted in significant technological and cultural foreign influence. Furthermore, our courts are greatly influenced by foreign legal theories and rules, to the extent that it is fair to say that Panama is a net importer of legal doctrines. Nevertheless, our legal system's main strong point is not the import of legal rules, but rather the adaptability of our courts to apply them to find the best solution to a specific conflict.
