In this article we gather the contributions of Clara Gonzalez, the first Panamanian lawyer, for the development of legislation in Panama, framed in her own iusphilosophical conception of law: in the consolidation of gender equality in national legislation, in the conquest of women’s suffrage, in the achieving of sovereignty over the entire homeland, in the achieving of special jurisdictions for proceedings concerning children, in having been a pioneer in criminological investigations in Panama and in having contributed to the approval of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child of 1959.
