The eradication of violence against women is crucial in our societies. With this objective, the Specialized University of the Americas, through its Dean's Office, today the Vice-Rector's Office of Extension, executes actions with a view to reversing this scourge from a university policy that efficiently manages to impact and contribute in this matter.
This is why the Vice-Rectory of Extension of UDELAS assumes the leadership of the project in the Latin American Network for Research and Transfer of Gender Studies and Social Practices (GENRED) where ten universities in Latin America constitute an exchange platform to promote training actions., research and connection with the social, political, economic and cultural reality impacting changes for gender equality.
Within the framework of the GENRED Consolidation Project, training activities were carried out among those who make up GENRED on Protocols for the prevention and protection against sexual harassment and sexist harassment in the university environment. Among the transcendental achievements is that a study of protocols for the prevention, attention and punishment of sexual harassment and sexist harassment in the GENRED universities was prepared. We also highlight activities for the transfer of knowledge and research that included diagnoses of sexual harassment and sexism in GENRED universities and even defined actions to address these types of violence.
The result of this study is a valuable input for those universities that do not have this tool and opportunities for improvements for those universities that do have it.
The conclusions presented are the result of the study and above all of feminist discussions held within GENRED.
