The sports contract is a fundamental instrument in the field of professional sports. This type of contract regulates the relationship between athletes and sports entities, establishing rights and obligations that must be fulfilled by both parties; In most legislations this contract is eminently private in nature, however, other international regulations have contemplated a different protection and legal framework to regulate what is considered a special employment relationship. In light of labor law, the sports contract has particular characteristics that differentiate it from other employment contracts. The importance of examining the legal implications of the sports contract, analyzing its nature, its particularities and its regulation in the context of labor law in Panama and carrying out objective analysis in comparative law has been fundamental in the creation of legal viability and factual necessity in our sports scenario.
