The imperial pretensions and executive orders recently issued by United States President Donald John Trump expose the true face and behavior of Washington governments, especially when crises occur within their society. These crises, resulting from their own economic and political dynamics, are the situation that American society is experiencing. The so-called land of the American Dream, trapped today by its own circumstances and excesses, is struggling with a profound and complex economic situation that threatens to destabilize the global economy.
For this reason, it is imperative to analyze some official or relevant documents as an introduction, in order to understand the causes affecting the reality that American society is experiencing. In the same line, the Washington government is seeking to end the crisis by imposing sanctions, and economic and political measures on many countries, that have been its historical allies until now. Such as the Republic of Panama, which maintains a relationship through the construction of the Panama Canal, but it is now threatened by the strong measures the Donald Trump administration is imposing on the Central American country.
The recent agreement, framed as a Memorandum of Understanding, which established a series of collaborative security actions, not only violates the Permanent Neutrality Treaty but also exposes the waterway as a military target in the event the United States enters a global war. Therefore, in this investigation, we seek to outline some relevant aspects of this situation, which endangers the stability of the region.
It is regrettable that our authorities have not foreseen the scope and consequences for the country of entering into agreements so disadvantageous for the Republic of Panama. There are those situations that invite us to formulate our criteria and opinions based on our historical background.
