This paper addressed the main aspects of business ethics and how it can be considered a source of commercial law in the Panamanian legal system. At first, a conceptual delimitation was made on the concepts: ethics, professional ethics and business ethics. In the same way, the scope of commercial law was delimited and a conceptualization was carried out about the sources of law in general and the sources of commercial law in particular. Likewise, the growing importance of commercial activity in today's society was analyzed and how this makes it of collective interest that commerce developed within a framework governed by ethical principles. The main research method used was hermeneutics. Among the conditions reached in the article we have that business ethics has acquired such importance within the regulation of commercial activity that it must be considered as a source of Panamanian commercial law
