Abstract

The objective of this research project is to identify the origin of tourism marketing promoting the Bocas del Toro archipelago through various online platforms as a digital marketing tool. Thirty websites were analyzed, 25 of which are foreign sites of all kinds (tourists, tour operators, and OTAs).  Through these, we have managed to find many of the existing tourism businesses, as well as the different tourist attractions in the archipelago, which have been analyzed in terms of how, by which of these websites, and how many times they have been promoted to encourage tourists to visit the Bocas del Toro archipelago.  The results showed that there are many more international websites that promote tourism in Bocas del Toro, but the effort made by the few websites that promote tourism in the region in their tourism marketing management was emphasized.
