This analysis's primary objective is to compare the historiographical and ideological position of the article by the renowned writer Pantaleón García Bethancourth, regarding the events that took place in Panama on January 9, 1964, with other ideological and pragmatic forms. This comparison will focus on the participation of the main actors and the exposition and exegesis of the facts, given that from the very first day of the events, different news outlets broadcast and reported on them from distinct points of view that responded to dissimilar interests, mainly those aligned with the central and American governments. To this end, we have resorted to a bibliographic confrontation through heuristics and hermeneutics in order to also express a new interpretation that will perhaps yield results with other perspectives that will serve to elaborate the conclusions.
