This investigation related the dental anomalies found in the upper lateral incisors and their relationship with the ectopic eruption or impact of the upper canines. Panoramic radiographs and CT scans of 41 patients from the Orthodontics Clinics of the University of Panama were evaluated. The results of this study indicated that the female gender is more prone to this type of pathology. The impacted canine was found mostly unilaterally and in a palatine position. This investigation showed that the presence of the permanent upper lateral incisor dental anomalies is related to the permanent upper canine impaction, especially on the same side.
