Abstract

Malocclusion is one of the biggest public health problems worldwide. Unilateral posterior crossbite is a transverse alteration of the upper jaw, produced by an imbalance of forces between the muscles of the face and those of the tongue or by a pathological force caused by a bad habit that produces anterior movement of the upper jaw. This bad habit can also produce a vertical alteration between the jaws.
