Abstract

Anterior open bite is an occlusal pathology that can be caused by a bad habit such as thumb sucking, by an incorrect position of the tongue or by a growth pattern. The position of the tongue at rest can prevent the correct eruption of the incisors. When diagnosing anterior open bite we must know the possible etiologies to state the correct treatment plan.
