Abstract

Pathologies that act on the dental lamina can produce alterations in the number of teeth, the shape or the size of those teeth that are forming at that time. These alterations occur in the vast majority of cases in the upper jaw or mandible. The most common supernumerary tooth is the Mesiodens. 10 supernumerary teeth were found in a sample of 234 panoramic radiographs observed. Of these teeth, 9 were in the upper jaw and one in the mandible.
