This project focuses on the design and construction of a prototype with Arduino and the GSM (Global System Mobile) network for the acquisition of water flow data and subsequently send notifications via text messages; basically this project is divided into two parts: hardware and software.
In relation to the hardware, an analysis of different components was made for the acquisition of data and a Digiten FL-1608 water flow sensor was used, through which the values of the water flow that passes through the pipes in liters will be obtained / minutes
Subsequently, each Arduino card was analyzed to determine which met the requirements that were needed for the development of the prototype and it was decided to use the Arduino Uno R3 board, then the analysis of the component that would help send the data that the sensor of water flow would be collected and it was determined to use the Sim800F shield card, since it uses the established GSM network to visualize the reading of the flow of drinking water passing through the pipeline the Arduino LCD 16X2 Shield was used.
Regarding the software, the programming language of the Arduino platform was used, since it is an open source language. For this purpose, data acquisition algorithms of the water flow sensor, the shield sim800F card configuration, water flow calculation and their respective sending of data to a mobile device via SMS were used
For the part of feeding to the prototype a solar panel was used, which will be in charge of supplying power to the battery, a controller that will supply the necessary energy that the prototype requires and a 12-volt battery that will store the energy that the solar panel will
