Abstract

The Yeguada region in Veraguas is known as a volcanic area in Panama. On this site, there are several hot springs. One of these is known as El Potrero de Calobre. In this place, temperature measurements were made and samples were taken from several wells near the river and transferred to the laboratory of the Regional Center of Veraguas (University of Panama), where microscopic observations were made to report living organisms. Temperatures taken instead registered 34 - 61 ° C. The observations showed several cyanobacteria, Anabaena spp and Lyngbya spp; as well as protozoa, Stentor sp.
