Abstract

Emotional intelligence is the way that human beings have to relate to our environment in a positive way, that is, by controlling our emotions, communicating in an empathic and assertive way, projecting optimistic attitudes towards life. The objective of this article was to know the relationship between emotional intelligence and teaching stress. Indicating that, with greater social ability, emotional self-awareness, empathy, adaptability and self-regulation of emotions, it is possible to moderate and prevent the negative effects of stress on teachers, to which teachers are subjected daily in the school context. (anger, sadness, anxiety, others) For this reason, it is necessary for teachers to be educated in the management and development of emotional intelligence skills, since these exert favorable results at a preventive level. That is, the ability to reason about our emotions. Therefore, the teacher must know how to handle stress; an environment without stress, free from threats, happy and reliable, guarantees lifelong learning for our students and improves the quality of life and professional productivity of the teacher.
