Abstract

Communication is an inherent characteristic of the human being, and physical and psychological factors affect it. Having an adequate vocabulary and a functional speech apparatus is not a guarantee that you can establish communication between two or more people; insecurity and not daring to talk often prevent people from expressing their opinion or starting a communicative act. The Interviewing Native English Speakers project is based on this purpose: to get English learners out of their comfort zone by prompting them to seek out and interview a native English speaker. The results of this experience are reflected from two aspects, first they acquire academic knowledge on vocabulary issues and advice on techniques to improve their English and second, a self-reflection is carried out where the student describes their personal growth acquired during the completion of this project.
