Abstract

Higher education institutions face in this new century a series of challenges in a world in constant transformation, among which could be highlighted: the improvement and quality of teaching, training of teaching staff and curricular updates that facilitate a transformation of thought. Consequently, this educational reality requires rethinking and looking at the phenomena that emerge and coexist in the educational event in a different way, which must respond to the demands that society demands. For this, a reflective analysis of complex thinking and its relationship with the curricular programs of higher education at the University of Panama was carried out, taking as a reference the main theoretical foundations of the proposal of Edgar Morín, Carlos Delgado, Eduardo Flores, among others. . It is a qualitative study of an exploratory, descriptive, and non-experimental nature, whose research method of an inductive-deductive theoretical nature where reflections emerge about the relationship between complex thinking and curricular plans in higher education at the University of Panama. The methodology used is based on documentary research, with the collection of scientific data, taking as sources of information: books, scientific journals, research papers and other documents.

Within the final reflections it is emphasized the fact that the curricular programs in higher education at the University of Panama must include in their teaching methods strategies that promote the development of complex thinking to train thinking, critical individuals capable of identifying their own skills that allow you to transform your social environment
