The management of operations in SMEs becomes a tool that provides new business models with a differentiating and competitive vision, since the changes caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic have forced these companies to transform and face determining the challenges that this situation has imposed on them, and that has allowed a profound evolution in the way in which the different operations that affect the commercial activities that they are carrying out are carried out. It is an exploratory, descriptive and quantitative research whose purpose is to know the reality in the management of operations in SMEs. With a population of 104 small and medium businessmen from the province of Veraguas, and a census sample for convenience. For the collection of information, a survey consisting of fifteen closed questions was applied, where the participation of 72% (75 businessmen) of the total study subjects was obtained. The findings resulting from this research provide knowledge in terms of determining changes in business models, production processes in SMEs and discovering what these companies have in terms of their operations and that allow the standardization of processes, which contributes to the increase in the quality of the products and services that they are currently offering, which is a key factor in order to achieve economic recovery.
