Abstract

In graphic design, there are different processes or methods for creating creative designs. Various authors have proposed specific patterns based on research processes and methods. A graphic designer is not far removed from applying these processes or methods in research, since, like any role in creating graphic solutions, various elements and characteristics of the investigative and creative process must be taken into account. This is important, and in the Methods of Exploration in Design course MRG 703, students are introduced to the importance of research and the development of creativity. In this particular case, the creative problem-solving process in art and design proposed by Bernd Lobach is presented. This method is presented in four phases: the first phase analyzes and identifies the problem and its connection to the environment. In the second, possible solutions to the problem are studied and proposed: trial, error, and solution. In the third phase, the solutions to the problem are analyzed and evaluated, and in the fourth and final phase, the final solution is developed.
