Open access policies
OPEN ACCESS STATEMENT
The journal Más TIC is an open access journal, since all its articles are available on the Internet for all readers immediately after their publication, according to the periodicity declared in the instructions for authors (biannual). All users have free and open access to the articles and other documents published in this journal, globally, without space restrictions.
PUBLICATION POLICY
The journal Más TIC provides free access to all its articles and there is no charge for the editorial process. The journal does not charge for its publication nor does it commit itself to remunerate the authors, since they cede the right to publish their articles. This journal is not for profit. Any author who submits an article for publication in this journal accepts this rule. No payment or other consideration is required for reviewers involved in this process.
Immediate free access to its content is provided on the principle that making research freely available to the public encourages greater global knowledge sharing.
When an author submits an article for publication in the journal, it is expected that the article has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another publication. Articles must be original and unpublished, complying with the rules of citation and referencing.
AUTHORS' AND READERS' RIGHTS POLICY
Authors retain at all times their copyright on their published contributions. Copyright policies require citing the author(s) of any content reproduced in whole or in part, as long as the information is not used for commercial purposes; in this way, the intellectual property of the authors and of the University of Panama as the publishing entity is recognized.
The assignment of copyrights implies the assignment of patrimonial rights by the authors of the published articles, allowing the journal to publish them in electronic format. The journal Más TIC does not request payments to authors for the editorial process or for publication, nor to readers for access to scientific information available in the Portal of Journals of the University of Panama (revistas.up.ac.pa).
OPEN EVALUATION POLICY
The journal evaluates all manuscripts through a very transparent and participatory peer review process, which includes the eventual disclosure (two years after the article is published) of the identity of the reviewers.
The manuscript evaluation process is at no cost to the journal's contributors. Any manuscript submitted for publication will be treated with equality and confidentiality.
Reviewers must comply with the deadlines agreed and requested by the journal Más TIC for the reviews. In addition, they should avoid accepting manuscripts that are not within their competence, when they consider that they will not be able to carry out the review in the established time or when there is any link with the author(s), respecting the confidentiality of the manuscripts and the right of authorship, avoiding commenting or discussing the content of the documents with other people.
PUBLICATION LICENSING POLICIES
The journal Más TIC adopts the following Creative Commons publishing license: Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
Terms:
BY - Attribution: credit must be given appropriately, providing a link to the license and indicating if changes have been made. It can be done in any reasonable manner, but not in a way that suggests that you or your use is supported by the licensor.
NC - NonCommercial: You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
SA - ShareAlike: If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contribution under the same license as the original.
DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY
The editorial management of the journal is done through the OPEN JOURNAL SYSTEMS (OJS) software, in which the plugin called LOCKSS has been enabled for digital preservation and restoration purposes.
COMMUNICATION POLICY
Both the Editorial Committee and the authors of the journal Más TIC are committed to promote strategies of induction and promotion of access and use of the articles, so that the university community understands the value of the information contained in the different issues of the publication. Once published, they will be disseminated through the different institutional and personal social networks and/or through academic events held in the institution and in the academic unit.
