Abstract

Moral damage is the affectation suffered by a person in their feelings, affections, beliefs, decorum, honor, reputation, private life. The psychological valorate evaluates different areas of affectations or damage suffered by the individual. Method This present study was carried out in the city of Colón, Panama, through a non-experimental, descriptive-documentary retrospective design carried out through virtual surveys of psychologists and judges who agreed to participate in it. Eighteen judges of the civil judicial circuit of Panama and the two judges of the civil judicial circuit of Colón were approached, of which only 9 participated, responded to the survey and allowed a brief interview.

This research on moral damage and psychological assessment in civil proceedings has among its objectives to be a frame of reference for legal and forensic psychology professionals, in the same way it aims to assess psychological aspects of forensic expertise in civil proceedings of moral damage. In addition, it will allow clarity and illustrate to judges and lawyers the importance of the psychologist's participation in processes on non-material damage.
