Mismanagement of city solid waste causes many problems for both the environment and humans. This study was conducted in two communities of the Transisthmian area of province of Colon, Nuevo Mexico, Sector # 1, Sabanitas County and Residencial La Victoria, Cristobal County. The survey was applied to the residents of both communities, Nuevo Mexico and Residencial La Victoria, with the objective of evaluating the current situation of solid waste mismanagement in both places, inquiring to the respondents about solid waste and who is responsible of its management. Among results, the research highlights about the perceptions of Agua Aseo, and its communitarian responsible levels. Once the problems are identified, the authors propose short, medium and long term strategies that would solve the problem.
