Abstract

From a floristic inventory, ethnobotany review, abundance and diversity analysis; the composition of tree and shrub species with economic importance was determined. Similarities and differences in distribution and abundance of species were established. Between May 2012 and August 2013, a total of 420 individuals, divided into 61 tree and shrub species belonging to 34 families were recorded, Mostly families being represented: Arecaceae (121), Asparagaceae (42), Anacardiaceae (41). Also, six cultural uses, associated to species were identified: handcraft (14) food (16), construction (11) industrial (5) medical (20) ornamental (47). The diversity of flora as biotypes is represented by 67.21% of trees, shrubs 32.79%. According to diversity indices, Menhinick (2,976), Margalef (9,933), Fisher Alpha (19.62), Berger-Parker (0.1524) we can say that the study area is very diverse and the results coincide with expectations for cultivated areas and tropical urban forests.
