Abstract

Biplot methodology allows representing the information contained within a data matrix into a more reduced dimensional space with minimum information lost. To obtain a higher quality of representation of both axes of the data matrix, an extension of the Classical Biplot is used: HJ-Biplot. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is an international organization whose purpose is to promote the development of sustainability reports by all kind of organizations for their economic, social and environmental performance as a commitment to their Corporate Social Responsibility. Brazil registers an increasing number of companies committed of publishing their progress in GRI’s social responsibility reports. The largest companies of this country are grouped in three well-defined clusters based on their level of response to these three groups of indicators. This article aims to highlight the relationship between sustainability performance indicators reported to the GRI during 2011 and 2012, and the possible grouping of Brazilian companies based on the type of indicator where they are more related.
